Default Thankfull to forum supporters

Just wanted to stop by and say hello and a thankyou to those who helped me though my addiction. I tapered off suboxone in April 07 after being on it 9 weeks to help kick a 5-6 year hydro addiction. I tapered off sub and went into major depression that was there before my hydro days. A couple of members told me about LDN and that really helped. I took it for 3 months and got off it a couple weeks ago. I'm really feeling very good now,6 months after the treatment. But my doctor says I have ADD and has put me on 20mg Daytona patches. Is that too high of dose? It seems to be working after a week of use. I can focus better mentally than ever before. Thanks again, Dennis

be cautious with that patch, it is a cII drug, similar to meth and cocaine. if ur not careful u will trade off addictions since u have an addictive personality. just be cautious since u dont have any opiates in u and ur on that, ur add could be due to coming off of the bupe, id give it time before going on a schedueled drug. good luck

So here I am at 50 and finally taking care of my ADD. I've been living with it since my early school years but the doctors wouldn't treat it because i also had a case of torant ssp.? syndrom. My new Dr. is an addiction specialist. So he is being carefull and I will too,no need to go through that hell again. Thanks again, Dennis

Hi Dennis,

Recently I had to do some research into ADD and between friends here on the Internet, the Internet it's self and several doctors here, the first thing which I learned was, there is no clear cut way of diagnosing it. I have heard your story repeated several times, people later in their adult years discovering it and ultimately helping themselves find solutions for things that never just seemed exactly right.

So again, congratulations. Life is certainly responding well to your hard work. And thank you for sharing all of this. This LDN thing IMO can aid many people, not just those of us who suffer from this disease.

ohio, theres a realy good john bredding video on youtube about add, and how it is basically a made up thing that the pham industry is to blame for. not that people dont have it but people that really dont have it can say they have symptoms and bang they have add if they get a diagnosis. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ia6OGEj6wW0 is the link for that, his site is www.wildestcolts.com here is a symptom list, if u read it, and think, this could go for any child. there is no clear test like per say if u have cancer they can find a tumor like u said. heres the link for the so called symptoms by the national center for disease control there has to be something they can do besides giving you a very addictive stimulant. so basically they are drugging kids to make them pay attn in school, thats a crime i think. but if ur older and can understand and the meds help you pay attn and not just tweak and zone out. i used to abuse add meds for a year about,, i snotred ritilin and adderal, there just like normal speed and make u paranoid, cold limbs, can't sleep, tweek out at things for hours. heres the link for the symptoms http://www.cdc.gov/ncbddd/adhd/symptom.htm but den if u have bene dealing with it all ur life and this helps you thats great im happy for u. and glad ur seeing a doc that knows about addiction and just dont hand s*** out, add can be treated effectivly with stimulants, and if u have it the stimulants work diff on u then they would with someone that dont have add. those daytrana patches are expensive like 4.5 apeace. how long does one last???? the site says ur suppsosed to put them on ur hip.

http://www.adhdfraud.com/ check out that site too, it exlplaines how that add is a fraud for some people. im not saying that the people with true add/adhd that have a very hard time paying attn and are really troubled with it. there are those parents who at the snap of one symptom have their kid diagnosed and drugged. its a shame..

While there is plenty that can be done to guard against lax doctors and parents throwing meds at their children, ADHD is a legitimate psychiatric disorder. Adderall XR has made a tremendous difference in my case. It's like someone took a shop vac to my brain.

Do you know anything about Dr. Fred Baughman? He believes that psychiatry is fraud. He was also honored as a "hero" by Narconon along with John Travolta, Tom Cruise; both whom are scientologists.

If Dr. Baughman is so against medications for ADD and sees that as a pharmaceutical scam and to get kids on drugs; wouldn't you think that he probably sees drug addiction in general as a made up disease? Besides I would imagine that his book is probably making him quite a bit of money.

I've only been taking it a week or so and I dont feel the speed effect maybe because I'm on a low dosage. But what I can say is my motor skills function has improved alot and I can already notice a difference in my short term memory. The patch is good for 9 hours so I take it off at the end of the work day. Another good thing is that it isnt effecting my sleep. Dennis

I sleep better and have less anxiety now that I'm on Adderall XR - further debunking the "ADHD is a myth" crowd.

Oh, and Tom Cruise is an IDIOT!

If Scientologists are for it,Im against it.IMO they are delusional freaks. They think phychiatry is a fraud but they believe a science fiction scam artist( Ron Hubbard) figured out humans are all aliens thrown into vocanoes 6 billion years ago amoung other equally bizarre crap.Ignore scientologists for your mental health. There has never been a more dangerous cult.
